4 Ingredient Seeded Crackers

Four-seeded crackers are crisp, wholesome snacks made with a blend of flaxseeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds.
Servings 500 grams crackers

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flax seeds
  • 2 cups mixed raw seeds pumpkin, sunflower, sesame seeds
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 4 tbsp oil olive oil or avocado oil, plus more for greasing

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven to 205°C (400°F) to ensure even baking.
  • Prepare the Flax seed Mixture. In a mixing bowl, combine flaxseeds, boiling water, and salt. Stir well and let it sit for a few minutes until the mixture thickens into a gooey gel-like consistency. This helps bind the crackers naturally.
  • Mix in the Seeds and Seasonings. Add the pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and sesame seeds to the flax mixture. Stir to combine. Taste and adjust seasoning with extra salt or herbs like rosemary powder for added flavour.
  • Prepare the Baking Sheet. Lightly grease a baking tray with oil and line it with parchment paper. Brush two tablespoons of oil over the surface to prevent sticking.
  • Spread the Cracker Mixture. Pour the seed cracker mixture onto the prepared tray. Use a spatula to spread it evenly into a thin layer covering the entire surface.
  • Add a Finishing Touch. Brush the remaining two tablespoons of oil on top for a crisp texture. Sprinkle with sea salt for extra flavour.
  • Bake it to perfection for 25 to 28 minutes or until the seeds start to turn golden. Rotate the tray and bake for another 10 to 12 minutes until the crackers are crispy and golden brown.
  • Cool and Store. Carefully transfer the crackers to a cooling rack or let them cool in the pan. Once fully cooled, break them into pieces and store them in an airtight container. They stay fresh for up to three weeks.
